The BSC team has started autumn with a variety of research activities and intense work on several research projects.
- On September 12, BSC organised a seminar in cooperation with Latgale Region Development Agency and Latgale Business Center to discuss the role of small farms and small food businesses in the development of Latgale region and sustainable food provision as part of the SALSA project.
- In September and October, team members attended AGRILINK, ROBUST and PLAID project meetings.
- Tālis Tisenkopfs and Miķelis Grīviņš participated in the conference Agriculture and Food in an Urbanizing Society, which took place in Porto Alegre, Brazil, from 17 to 21 September. More information about the conference is available here.
- The team continues to actively collect data. The BSC team has completed the study of demonstration activities carried on in the Herbivorous project as part of the PLAID project, and interviews with farmers on learning with regards to the use of biological plant protection methods have been conducted as part of the AGRILINK project.
- The team has started working on two new research projects: Social Innovation in Food Provison: Pathways to Sustainable Production and Consumption (project description available here) and BONUS TOOLS2SEA (project description available here).
